Dedicated. Determined. Dominant. These are all words that describe snowboardcross world champion and Blenders Entourage athlete, Lindsey Jacobellis. And here are five more:

Best to ever do it.

Quite simply, Lindsey is the most dominant athlete in the history of snowboardcross. After roughly twenty years of professional success, her name’s synonymous with the sport… and she’s not done yet.

FROM DANBURY TO DOMINATION

While Lindsey Jacobellis may be entirely exceptional within her sport, her origin story is far more common. Like so many, she relied on a muse of sorts to get her on the slopes; a mentor that provided the spark that ignited a life-long passion with snowboarding. And like so many, it was a close family member—in this case, her brother.

From Lindsey’s official website:

“If it wasn't for my brother, Benny, introducing me to the sport, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am forever grateful for that spark that ignited me as a kid and I am committed to sharing that connection with the industry’s up-and-comers.”

Benny’s influence carried Lindsey from her hometown of Danbury, CT to Vermont’s Stratton Mountain School. The college preparatory high school specializes in training winter sport athletes, and it was there that Lindsey honed the skills that would eventually lead to professional success in Snowboard Slopestyle, Snowboard Halfpipe and, most notably, Snowboardcross events.

But again, when it comes to Lindsey, there’s almost no superlative that will do. She hasn’t just seen success—she’s shattered records and rocketed to the forefront of the sport, maintaining that position even as she’s battled setbacks from three knee surgeries in recent years. In fact, she’s now the winningest snowboarder in history with 31 World Cup wins. (Yes, 31—not a typo!)

CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS

6 x WORLD CHAMPION (2005 Whistler, 2007 Arosa, 2011 La Molina, 2015 Kreischberg, 2017 Sierra Nevada, 2019 Utah)

31x WORLD CUP GOLD MEDALIST

4 x OLYMPIAN (Highest result: Silver at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, the Olympic debut of Women’s Snowboardcross.)

10x X GAMES GOLD MEDALIST

MORE THAN JUST A WINNER

For as much as she’s won, Lindsey Jacobellis will surely go down in history equally for her approach to mentorship and her willingness to act as an ambassador of the sport. Her tireless work to introduce an entirely new generation of women to the slopes continues to be lauded. In fact, Lindsey’s enduring focus is an initiative that’s close to our hearts here at Blenders: Super Girl Pro.

“It’s incredibly important to lay the foundation for the future of women’s snowboarding,” Lindsey says. “Super Girl Pro does a great job of empowering women and putting pros and amateurs together in a unique environment so that we can pass along our experiences to the next generation.”

LINDSEY JACOBELLIS, LIVING IN FORWARD MOTION

“The best to ever do it” is a heck of a mantle to carry but Lindsey Jacobellis has been managing it with grace for years. She’s a spirited professional, resilient competitor and, even more importantly, a face for the sport that today’s youth can celebrate, admire, and hope to emulate. That’s one impressive legacy—and she sure as hell ain’t done yet. //
