Fit is vital both to the look and comfort of your Blenders sunglasses. If you don’t have the right fit, you risk your nose getting pinched, your glasses slipping off your face, and your style being just a bit “off.”
We’re here to make sure none of that happens.
If you’ve ever wondered how to tighten sunglasses without the help of a professional, you’ve come to the right place—here at The Perfect Blend; we’ll walk you through the process of getting your sunnies in top shape!
How to Determine What’s Wrong With Your Sunglasses
Feel like your sunglasses are crooked? Diagnosing the problem is the first step to fixing your Blendz.
First, toss on your shades and position them so the middle of the lenses is located at the center of your eyes. This is the proper location for your shades—any adjustments to your Blendz should be made relative to this position.
If, after positioning your Blendz, you find that your glasses or leaning to one side, you’ve likely got an issue with the temple arms. Feel free to skip to “Scenario #1” below. If, however, your lenses are resting too high or low on your face or you’re experiencing pinching at the nose, you’ll want to make tweaks to the nose pads. In this case, we encourage you to skip to “Scenario #2” below.
Scenario #1 - Your Glasses Are Too Loose or Too Tight Near the Temples
Crooked shades are a total no-go; we get it. Fortunately, learning how to tighten sunglasses is a cinch. If you have a glasses repair kit, that’s superb, but you can adjust the temples on your Blendz using any precision Phillips-head screwdriver.
Before you get started, a word of caution: These screws are tiny. Use an appropriately sized screwdriver and never apply any pressure to your sunglasses beyond what is necessary to complete adjustments.
With that out of the way, let’s fix those Blendz in a few simple steps:
- Lay your Blenders sunglasses on a flat surface with the temple screws facing upward. These screws connect the top of the temple arms with the glasses’ frame.
- Steady the shades with one hand and gently use your precision screwdriver to rotate the screws clockwise to tighten. Be careful not to overtighten/force the screws into a tighter position. If you need to loosen the screws, turn in the opposite direction.
- Try your Blenders on again in front of the mirror. They should feel snug, comfortable, and look even on your face. If crookedness persists, revisit the screws and make further adjustments with your screwdriver until you are satisfied.
Scenario #2 - Your Glasses Slide Down Your Nose or Pinch Your Nose
Glasses slipping? Too tight on the nose? We can fix those problems in a flash, too!
Here’s how to make adjustments to alleviate these issues:
- Grip the bridge of your sunglasses securely with one hand.
- Use your other hand’s index finger and thumb to grip one nose pad on your sunglasses. Move the nose pad in slightly if your shades felt too loose; move it outward somewhat if you experienced pinching at the nose.
- Repeat this process with the other nose pad in equal measure.
- Try your Blendz on again. If you’re still not pleased with the fit, make slight adjustments to the nose pad until you’re satisfied.
Remember! Always apply the least amount of pressure to your sunglasses to make adjustments.
Happy Blending!
